Job Summary: The Network Engineer works on the implementation and upgrades of the network infrastructure as well as respond to issues related to the corporate network. This includes tasks such as: creating network diagrams, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)/Working Instructions (Wis), installing, configuring network hardware/software, performance monitoring, maintenance, inventory management, security, and troubleshooting issues. They will be engaged in multiple projects designing, deploying, monitoring, and evaluating our network systems and services between multiple platforms, protocols, and service providers. They will be working with our various routers, circuits, WIFI, internet, switches, firewalls, ISPs, cabling, VPN connections, unified communications systems, call-center management, and security systems. The Network Engineer obtains work from our ticketing system and will be working with the IT director, security, various operation/project managers, ensuring security compliance for our network. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Demonstrates advanced knowledge in a variety of technologies; serves as a point of escalation for complex network issues.
  • Provide oversight for and ensures the proper engineering and installation of both partner and internal structure changes, as well as new implementations.
  • Makes sure the projects and task assignments are completed in a timely manner as well as being functional and ensuring security compliance.
  • Participates in network design, planning, site/data center surveys, recommendations for future infrastructure and security enhancements.
  • Addresses ISP, circuit, firewall, router, switches, cabling, and security related work activities.
  • Addresses documentation, inventory management, capacity planning and bandwidth needs.
  • Responds promptly to incident tickets/tasks concerning network/voice issues.
  • Works to maintain security and proper access to customer data.
  • Proactively seeks out and understands new and developing technologies and trends.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Successful implementation of network design objectives.
  • Projects and incidents are completed in a timely and responsive manner.
  • Protect the integrity of customer data.
  • Ensure the network is secure and meets compliance for SOC2 and HIPAA compliance.
  • Perform maintenance and security of infrastructure devices.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, or similar.
  • Network Certifications are preferred but not required (e.g., CCNA, Network Security Expert (NSE)).
  • Advanced level knowledge in networking
  • A minimum of three (3) years of successful, in-depth work experience in relevant technical fields.
  • Experience with Cisco networks, switches, and firewalls is required.
  • Experience with Ruckus and Fortinet network devices is required.
  • Advanced IT knowledge including, but not limited to, security clearance, firewalls, switches, network security
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong logic, reasoning, and analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot/problem solve
  • Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team
  • Project management and Leadership skills
