The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and intermittently improving our current network configuration and infrastructure. You will design our revamped network infrastructure with the goal of maximizing our network performance.
Responsibilities
- Determine network specifications by consulting with users and assessing workflow, access, information, and security needs.
- Analyze network performance issues, focusing on availability, utilization, throughput, and latency.
- Plan and oversee the selection, installation, configuration, and testing of network equipment.
- Develop and implement network policies and procedures.
- Maintain and upgrade existing software and hardware, replacing outdated components as necessary.
- Ensure that all network hardware and firmware are regularly updated.
- Collaborate closely with the Network Administrator to optimize network performance and thoroughly evaluate and test any changes that could impact critical systems.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related area
- 6+ years' of experience with network engineering specifically with CISCO or Extreme Networks, Fortinet firewalls
- Knowledge of cybersecurity
- Strong technical hands-on knowledge of MPLS, IP/TCP, BGP, VPN, Switches/Routers, Multicast networks, datacenters, WLAN controllers
- Excellent time management skills
- Certifications like CCNA or Network+ is required
