Job Summary: The Network Engineer installs, configures, and provides maintenance of LAN/WAN infrastructure, video conferencing, phone systems, and hardware infrastructure for the organization. Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting computer networks including routers, switches, firewalls, access points, wireless controllers, and WAN links
  • Monitoring systems to improve performance and ensure network health
  • Troubleshooting, resolving, and communicating networking issues to other employees and management
  • Maintaining current knowledge and understanding of security and networking best practices to offer the best solutions and protection to company systems
  • Responsible for diagnosing and solving problems under time constraints
  • Implements the necessary controls and procedures to protect information system assets from intentional or inadvertent modification, disclosure, or destruction
  • Assists in the development of guidelines and procedures for administration and security best practices
  • Provides network documentation
  • Manages projects and maintenance tasks
  • Works closely with colleagues to meet team goals and improve processes and practices
  • Promote a safe workplace by performing all tasks in a safe and thoughtful manner in compliance with all rules, procedures, instructions, devices, equipment and use of appropriate personal protective equipment. Maintain vigilance for any hazardous conditions or practices in the workplace and immediately report any unsafe condition or practice to your supervisor.

Skills:
  • Comprehensive understanding of network services and networks such as TCP/IP, OSPF, DMVPN, and EIGRP
  • In-depth understanding and practical knowledge of networking systems such as switches, firewalls, routers and wireless devices
  • Ability to analyze and evaluate networks, identify issues, and provide solutions to ensure networks are operating efficiently
  • Excellent implementation and support of the theory and practices of operating systems, application software, and other information technology systems
  • Ability to configure and troubleshoot Wi-Fi and security infrastructure
  • Ability to manage several projects simultaneously from design to implementation
  • Ability to communicate technical information to other technical team members but also to coworkers in other departments who may not have knowledge of networking technical terminology
  • Networking proficiency and understanding to troubleshoot issues with minimal supervision
  • Working knowledge of telephone systems and video conferencing
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, What's Up Gold, and Cisco Prime
  • Familiarity with NetBox, and SharePoint is a plus
Work Environment:
  • Works primarily in a climate controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential
  • Occasional travel is required
Physical Demands:
  • Ability to be punctual and attend work on a regular and consistent basis
  • Ability to concentrate with various interruptions and various noise levels
  • The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 80 percent of the time
  • Occasionally will be expected to lift boxes not to exceed 50 pounds
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Related Field
  • 3+ years of Networking Experience in a multi-location environment
  • CCNA, other networking, and / or security certifications are preferred
