The Mid-Level Network Engineer (CCNP) will design, implement, and maintain complex network infrastructures that support mission-critical applications and services. The ideal candidate has experience with WAN/SD-WAN, cloud networks, and network security. This role involves proactive monitoring, troubleshooting, and working with cross-functional teams to meet business and technical requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Design, deploy, and manage scalable LAN/WAN network infrastructure according to client and business needs.
- Configure and manage network devices, including Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Implement and monitor network security protocols, ensuring protection from unauthorized access and maintaining the network's integrity.
- Monitor network performance, capacity planning, and make recommendations for optimization.
- Troubleshoot and resolve advanced networking issues, conducting root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
- Perform routine network maintenance, including patches, firmware updates, and hardware installations.
- Implement and manage advanced routing protocols (BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, MPLS) and VLAN configurations.
- Configure and manage SD-WAN and cloud connectivity in Azure and AWS environments.
- Prepare and maintain network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices for network infrastructure and security.
Requirements:
- Certification: CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) certification is required.
- Experience: 3-5 years in network engineering, with hands-on experience with Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls (e.g., ASA, Nexus).
- Networking Skills: Proficiency in LAN/WAN design, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS), VPNs, VLANs, and QoS.
- Cybersecurity Basics: Familiarity with network security protocols, firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortinet), and VPN configurations.
- Cloud Knowledge: Hands-on experience with networking in Azure and AWS.
- Troubleshooting Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach.
- Tools: Experience with network monitoring and analysis tools (e.g., Wireshark, SolarWinds).
- Documentation: Excellent communication and documentation skills, including network diagrams and configurations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with SD-WAN solutions and wireless network technologies (e.g., Cisco Wireless).
- Knowledge of VoIP, QoS, NAC, and security tools.
- Cisco certification CCNP and beyond (e.g., CCIE).
- Familiarity with automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Python scripting).
- Previous experience in a Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment.
