Position: Network Engineer (Cisco)
Location: Chandler, AZ
Work Model: Hybrid, 3 Onsite / 2 Remote
Duration: 6+ month contract
Hourly Rate: 50/hr to 60/hr+
Experience Overview: Cisco Switches and Routers, along with Palo Alto Firewalls experience. WI-FI 6 experience is a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Tests and troubleshoots voice and data circuits to meet customer requirements.
- Provides advanced technical guidance on network projects and requested systems.
- Documents, designs and ensures communication and delivery of requested services.
- Responds to customer requests and design solutions that help achieve the desired outcome.
- Monitors network usage and capacity planning for the environment.
- Documents firewall and security designs; ensures communication and delivery of requested services.
- Documents access control designs; ensures communication and delivery of requested services.
- Design and plans building and floor layouts for installation of communications services.
- Develops, executes and tracks the performance of security measures to protect information and network infrastructure and computer systems.
- Manages and maintains Wi-Fi networking hardware and various monitoring software.
What Gets You The Job:
- Networking, routing, switching and Firewall Security Administration; network concepts, protocols and topology management; intrusion detection, intrusion prevention and firewall configurations, maintenance and troubleshooting; MDF/IDF methodology and best practice standards.
- Fiber channel switching topologies and management; telecommunications regarding T1, T3 links and other circuits; capacity planning concepts; data backup solutions, configurations and practices to ensure full recovery of any IOS standard required; disaster recovery best practices and procedures; remote support tools and concepts.
- Install, configure and maintain complex data communications and all Enterprise Network Equipment to include but not limited to: Cisco Routers, Switches, Firewalls, IPS/IDS Equipment, VPN, which provides security, prevention and monitoring of all infrastructure performance and health. WIFI equipment such as Access Points, Clean Access, Remediation points, ACL, LAN Manager, CISCO Works.
- Install, configure and maintain current IOS, configuration standards, performance notification, traffic monitoring and traffic sniffing.
- Work with vendors and design engineers to produce a working system; make sound and reasonable decisions in accordance with laws, ordinances, regulations and established procedures.
- Project management procedures and techniques; performance and monitoring techniques; business analysis methodologies; conduct research, analyze issues and compile reports from a wide variety of sources and transmit data; read technical White Paper schematics; operate a personal computer and relates software or programs.
- Operate a motor vehicle and abide by traffic laws and rules.
- Follow oral and written instructions and communicate technical and non-technical concepts effectively both orally and in writing.
- Present a positive public image and maintain effective working relationships with other City employees, vendors and the public; maintain a professional demeanor during stressful situations.
