Route & Switch Engineering SupportLocation: New York, NY (On-Site 100% in Midtown) Duration: 6-month contract w/ potential to extend up to 18 months Pay: $70-80/hour W2 Job Description: The selected candidate will provide expert Route & Switch Engineering support to our client's team, focusing on the successful deployment and optimization of Software-Defined Access (SDA) and SDWAN within their facilities. This role involves integrating wireless technologies and Identity Services Engine (ISE) to ensure seamless network management. The candidate will collaborate closely with subject matter experts, Sr. Architects, engineers, and senior leadership to deliver high-quality support, leveraging SDA/SDWAN as a central management platform for network automation. This is a critical role in a large, complex environment, where planning, deploying, and optimizing solutions is key. The position will require both proactive and reactive support, providing advisory services while ensuring the continued success of Route & Switch technologies. Responsibilities:
- Provide Route & Switch engineering support to ensure the optimized deployment of SDA and SDWAN technologies.
- Integrate wireless technologies and ISE to offer comprehensive network solutions.
- Plan, deploy, and implement SDA/SDWAN as a central management platform for network automation.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts, engineers, and leadership to deliver secure, reliable, and innovative networking solutions.
- Troubleshoot and support day-to-day network operations, handling moves, adds, changes, and resolving complex issues.
- Ensure operational excellence by aligning network infrastructure with the organization's needs.
- Act as a technical advisor to network teams, sharing operational values and leading network optimization efforts.
- Engage in enterprise network planning, design, and implementation.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Routing & Switching, LAN Switching, and Layer 2 troubleshooting.
- Expertise in Layer 3 routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP within enterprise environments.
- Strong knowledge of SDA, SDWAN, and network management platforms.
- Solid understanding of Wireless LAN controllers and RF Design/WLAN implementation.
- Certifications in networking technologies (e.g., CCIE) are highly desirable.
- Experience in network planning, design, and implementation is a plus.
- Strong technical leadership, problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate with leadership teams.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience with Secure Access (ISE), Infrastructure Management, and Automation and Security solutions is a plus.
