- Design, implementation, and troubleshooting of networking equipment including switches, routers, and firewalls.
- At a minimum, the candidate would have working knowledge of spanning tree, trunking, routing protocols, first hop redundancy protocols, and ip subnetting.
- Demonstrated experience for the design and execution of network engineering configuration changes and documentation in a complex IT environment.
- Active DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II (Security+ or equivalent) with Continuing Education (CE)

Must be an effective communicator with excellent writing and presentation skills using Microsoft PowerPoint and Visio drawing tools. Must be able to work collaboratively in a team environment with other highly motivated network engineers as well as independently at times on large field projects. Candidate must have proven troubleshooting skills. Candidates with experience planning and supporting the deployment of network infrastructure are highly desired. Prior C2BMC network experience is also a plus.
This position includes both engineering of new capabilities and maintenance of existing environments. We use a mix of different vendors and expect the network engineer to be comfortable working with numerous technologies. Additionally, the network engineer will produce designs including system, logical, and connectivity drawings, and conduct testing of network designs.
The ideal candidate will maintain technical expertise in diverse areas of network and computer hardware and software including interconnection and interfacing with a wide-range of devices including routers, switches, firewalls, gateways, etc. The network engineer will also evaluate and report on new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.
Desired Skills:
- Cisco Nexus/Catalyst switches, Juniper routers and switches, Fortinet firewalls, Palo Alto firewalls.
- Experience with WANs, encryption devices, VxLAN, multicast, BGP, OSPF, and Wireshark.
- Familiarity with SIPRNet, MDACNet, or other DOD networks.
- Certifications such as COMPTIA Network+, Juniper JNCIA, and Cisco CCNA/CCNP.
- Understanding of the project lifecycle, related processes, and traditional systems engineering skills.
- Experience in reviewing work products produced by a team of engineers for quality, completeness, and adherence to established procedures and policies.
- Active TOP SECRET SCI clearance preferred
- Travel may be required to support both local and remote sites.
