Network Engineer (Hybrid)
*This is a hybrid opportunity, that will require an on-site presence in Austin, TX*
Optomi, in partnership with one of our premier clients, is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join their team! This role focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining complex network infrastructures to ensure maximum security, performance, and availability for users across international locations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in network engineering and troubleshooting, along with a strong understanding of networking protocols and cybersecurity best practices.

Experience of the Right Candidate:
- 5+ years of experience in network engineering or a related field.
- Strong hands-on experience with enterprise-class switches (Cisco Catalyst, Nexus series, Aruba) and firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortinet).
- Proven expertise in networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing protocols), network topologies, and network devices.
- Experience in designing and managing complex network architectures, including redundancy, wireless connectivity, data center design, and WAN integration.
- Familiarity with wireless technologies such as Aruba Central, Aruba WLC, or Cisco Meraki.
- CCNA certification (or higher) preferred; ITIL Foundation certification is a plus.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices, Voice solutions (e.g., Cisco Call Manager), VPN solutions, and computer server architectures.
- Experience working with vendors to drive product support, define roadmaps, and improve relationships.
Responsibilities of the Right Candidate:
- Design, implement, and maintain a global network infrastructure, ensuring high availability, security, and performance.
- Interpret business requirements to set strategic direction for networks, tools, and vendors.
- Oversee and document best practices for network design and lead technical reviews for global projects.
- Manage critical network components, including routing, switching, firewalls, wireless connectivity, and data centers.
- Monitor and maintain IT infrastructure to ensure functionality, security, and compliance with cybersecurity principles.
- Troubleshoot network and security issues, provide tiered support, and manage vendor relationships to resolve problems efficiently.
- Create and maintain documentation, execute change management processes, and participate in compliance audits and remediation efforts.
- Stay informed on industry trends and recommend innovative networking solutions.
