Network Engineer - WAN

Duties and responsibilities include:- Analyzes and develops telecommunications networks supporting a wide range of capabilities, including voice, data, video, and/or wireless services- Develops designs and plans for installation and maintenance of telecommunications systems from project inception to conclusion- Analyzes the problem and the characteristics of the information to be transported- Defines the problem and develops system requirements and network specifications- Closely coordinates with other information system professionals to ensure proper implementation of network services- In conjunction with functional users, develops alternative solutions and backup plans - Experience in telecommunications network design and management.- Must demonstrate the ability to work independently, or under only general direction, on requirements that are moderately complex to analyze, plan, program, and implement. - Experience in analysis and design of voice networks, WAN and WAN data networks, wireless networks, and/or network management systems to support voice and data services. Desired Candidate will have experience in the following Network Protocols and Technologies:- Routing and traffic shaping protocols BGP, MPLS, OSPF- Remote Access VPN, Site to Site VPN, DMVPN- Quality of Service (QoS) implementation and design- IPV6 implementation and design- 802.1x and MAB endpoint authentication- DNS- TACAC+- RadiusMust have one of the following certifications for meeting the DoD 8570:CCNA-Security, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP, CompTIA Security+ CE, CASP CE, CISA, CISSO (or Associate), GCED, GCIHMust have one of the following Computing Environment certifications: CCSE NGX, CCNA, CCNP, CCSP, SCNA, CCSE NGX Plus NG with AI, CCMSE NG with AI, CSMSE NG with AI Plus VSX, NSA, ESE, Brocade BPIPAExperience:- Must have five years telecommunications systems experience- Must have at least three years of local or wide area network experienceEducation:- Bachelor's Degree in a Computer Science or related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
