The Vexus brand will remain during the transition.We have an immediate opening for a Network Fiber Technician in Waconia, MN!Network Fiber TechnicianAs a Network Fiber Technician you will be responsible for the terminating, splicing, bonding/grounding, documenting, and testing of all fiber optic cables within the systems fiber optic networks and their related equipment with the end goal of providing maximum operating efficiency. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:You will perform all setup, testing and maintenance required for Customer Premise Equipment (CPE) installation of Plain Old Telephone Service (POTS), DSL and Networking servicesYou will install and maintain CPE Local Area Networks (LAN) and WiFi networksYou will install and maintain network interface devices (NID) and Optical Network Terminals (ONT)You will perform skilled troubleshooting from the Main Distribution Frame (MDF) to the demarcation point including CPEYou will respond to trouble tickets within acceptable company timeframe standardsYou will install Outside Plant (OSP) facilities according to engineered work orders or service ordersYou will perform routine preventive maintenance and major repairs to distribution systemsYou will perform cable/fiber testing and splicingYou will locate fiber optic cablingYou will record and report all record changes immediatelyYou will complete inventory replenish requests as neededAbility to work other duties as assigned* Subject to all applicable state and federal lawsAvailable to travel for training as neededAbility to work other duties as assignedAdditional Qualifications/ResponsibilitiesJOB QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:High School Diploma or GED.One to two years in the telecommunications industry or related experienceSome trade school training is desiredAbility to be professional with customers and fellow associatesMeet key performance metricsPhysical ability to work in various conditions including, but not limited to adverse weather conditionsPhysical ability to work from a kneeling or standing position for long periods of timePhysical ability to climb ladders with proper equipment up to 25 feetAble to lift and carry loads of up to 75lbs including ladderAbility to work with basic hand tools and other specialized equipment with trainingOperate and maintain company vehicle/equipment safely and professionally including a Department of Transportation (DOT) certified bucket truck and trailerPerform on-call rotation duties after regular business hours as neededAvailable to work overtime when deemed necessary, may include holidays and weekendsWillingness to work as a team and independently.Total Rewards:80% of Medical premiums paid for by the companyCompany-paid Disability and Life insuranceEAP (Employee Assistance Program)401(k) company match dollar for dollar up to 6%Equipment and resources provided on day oneOpportunities for advancementProfessional development programsAssociate perks and discountsDiscounted MetroNet service in our serviceable areaAnd more!Job specific perks :Paid training at MetroNet UniversityCompany-paid logo attire/uniformCompany vehicle and fuel cardCell phone allowanceDOT CertificationOSHA CertificationOn-Call Pay
