Salary: Depends on QualificationsLocation : Beaumont, TXJob Type: Full TimeJob Number: 5575Department: Information TechnologyDivision: IT AdminOpening Date: 10/17/2024Duties and ResponsibilitiesEssential Job Functions: Performs server hardware support which includes implementation, installation, configuration, maintenance, performance monitoring and troubleshooting of all servers, tape drives and associated hardware peripherals and OS, databases, and backup software; determines when server, software, and OS upgrades, updates, or patches are required and ensures that all are loaded; loads and maintains up-to-date anti-virus definition files on all servers; monitors and protects the network from intrusion; monitors server utilization to proactively address needed upgrades or changes; develops and maintains network documentation; performs communication hardware/software support which includes implementation, installation, configuration, maintenance, monitoring performance and troubleshooting of all routers, switches, and firewalls (networking equipment is mainly Cisco); determines when router, switch, and firewall upgrades, updates, or patches are required and performs the necessary updates; takes ownership of all server, router, switch, and firewall incidents until the situation has been resolved. Creates and maintains a climate of continuous improvement, proactively identifying opportunities for service improvements and internal efficiencies.Other Job Functions: Performs other duties as required. Experience with setting up and configuring Cisco routers, switches, access points, and FortiGate firewalls preferred. Experience with VPN and remote access deployments preferred. Experience with backup, restore, and disaster recovery planning. Knowledge of anti-virus strategies. Experience with Active Directory & group policy. Experience with SAN, NAS, and fiber channel storage implementation preferred.
