THE POSITION Are you an experienced information technology (IT) professional? The Enterprise Technology Services Office is looking for a motivated and ambitious Network Specialist 1 to join our team of professionals. This position is responsible for providing technical desktop support services in problem solving the operation of desktop hardware and software applications and maintaining network and local printing devices. DESCRIPTION OF WORK The Network Specialist 1 is tasked to solve difficult and complicated network and desktop, software, and hardware problems. This includes serving as an expert resource on desktop connectivity, and on the installation and configuration of newly acquired or upgraded hardware and/or software. Identifying and managing issues or risks affecting projects in a proactive manner will be key. You will have the opportunity to analyze, diagnose, troubleshoot, and document system hardware, applications, and network problems or issues. Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employmentWork hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. After a probation period, 6-8 days in office per pay period will be required. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.You will receive further communication regarding this position via email. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year as an Information Technology Trainee or Information Technology Technician; or Successful completion of the Information Technology Intern - Bachelor Program; or Three years of experience providing information technology support services including hardware and software installation, operation, and maintenance within a network environment; or One year of experience providing information technology support services including hardware and software installation, operation, and maintenance within a network environment, and an associate's degree in any information technology field; or An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes one year of experience providing information technology support services including hardware and software installation, operation, and maintenance within a network environment.
