Position SummaryThis is technical work maintaining, designing, enhancing and researching network systems, pc hardware and software, and data communications in the Alachua County Fire Rescue Department.An employee assigned to this classification performs a variety of tasks relating to network design, pc hardware and software maintenance and support, mobile networking and mobile computer maintenance and support, computer processing and information documentation for an assigned project team.Work is performed under the general direction of a higher-level supervisor and is reviewed through conferences, reports, and observation of results obtained. Examples of DutiesThis is an emergency essential classification. Upon declaration of a disaster and/or emergency, all employees in this classification are required to work.Alachua County Fire Rescue is a 24 hour 7 day a week, 365 day a year emergency response agency. As such, this position will also require some on-call availability via phone as well as in person to ensure emergency apparatus response.
