ATC's ability to prosper and grow as an independent financial services company is directly related to our reputation, maintaining a high level of public confidence and properly servicing the financial needs of our market area.SUMMARY:The Network Specialist works under the direct supervision of the Senior Network Administrator and is responsible for assisting in the ongoing support and operation of the data center and related data center infrastructure. This includes network related hardware and software, data storage, the physical and virtual server environment, server patch management, telecom circuits, and project activities related to data center infrastructure maintenance and upgrades. Maintenance and installation activities may occasionally be scheduled after normal work hours and on weekends.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Participating in the design, implementation, and management of networks and storage systemsMonitoring, maintaining, securing, and optimizing network infrastructure, including but not limited to:Network security protocolsNetwork, phone, and internet circuitsFirewalls, Routers, and SwitchesRemote Network AccessPhysical Servers and VMWare Virtual Server EnvironmentSAN Data StorageServer Patch ManagementNetwork, Internet, and Phone CircuitsIT Audit Response and SupportFollowing and Maintaining Department Policies and ProceduresAdministration of network remote access services, such as VPNInstalling, configuring, and optimizing network hardware, software, and communication links while ensuring minimal downtimeDiagnosing, resolving, and documenting network issues quickly and accurately, and provide training and support to end users as neededTroubleshooting and resolving network issues, such as connectivity, performance, security, and quality of serviceMonitoring and troubleshooting voice and telephony performance, availability, and securityReceiving and responding to incoming calls, and/or e-mails regarding network connectivity problemsPerforming on-site analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex network problems for a variety of end users, and recommending and implementing corrective hardware and software solutions, including off-site repairsAdhering to established patch management procedures to securely maintain systemsProviding backup and high-level support to users and other technical staffMaintaining network documentationOccasional dispatch to branch locations for network and telephony supportFollowing best practices to prevent network and system security vulnerabilitiesData center infrastructure issue resolution and maintenance*Other duties may be assigned.EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:Bachelor's or associate degree in computer information systems or related fieldProfessional certifications such as CCNA and CEH are desirableAbility to demonstrate a strong understanding of network protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP), routing, switching, network security, and storage technologiesPractical experience working with computer information systems and networkingExperience working with local and wide-area networksTechnical knowledge of network hardware, protocols, and standards, including TCP/IP, VoIP, and network monitoring suiteKnowledge of applicable data privacy practices and lawsDemonstrated hardware troubleshooting experienceUnderstanding of disaster recovery networks and system designProven analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to conduct research into networking issues and products as requiredExperience in dealing with vendors to maintain the hardware and software systemsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsPHYSICAL DEMANDS:Must be able to hear well enough to communicate with customers, co-workers, and outside bank personnel.Communicate Orally.Normal daily physical activities to include: walking, standing, sitting, stooping, bending, pushing, and pulling.Must be able to read reports and use computer.Occasionally will lift 20-30 pounds (files, cash drawer, etc.)Adirondack Trust is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
