As a Network Systems Engineer, you will play a crucial role in building and enhancing our internal tools and systems, contributing to the advancement of our telecom OSS/BSS systems. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead the development and management of new tools and features that support the build-out and scaling of our network infrastructure. We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Network Systems Manager to lead the development and management of our internal tools. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of wireline telecom/network infrastructure technologies, OSS/BSS tools, and a proven track record of successfully managing the entire product and tool lifecycle from conceptualization to execution. This role requires a strong combination of effective collaboration across XFNs, continuous execution, and ability to drive projects from inception to completion. Network Systems Manager Responsibilities
- Systems Strategy and Roadmapping: Understand, define, and drive the systems strategy, vision, and roadmap for internal tools and the associated features. Collaborate with Business Owners and Engineering Owners to align product priorities with business goals.
- Product Leadership: Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams in a product management capacity. Demonstrated ability to inspire and guide teams to achieve product excellence and drive innovation.
- Telecom Expertise: Possess a deep understanding of wireline telecom technologies (L1-L3 including Fiber, IP and Optical), expertise in building OSS/BSS systems, their architecture, and their role in ensuring efficient operations. Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
- Extreme Focus on Execution: Lead the end-to-end product development process, including requirement gathering, design, development, UAT, and deployment of all new systems and features. Drive the creation of high-quality features that meet user needs and exceed expectations.
- XFN Collaboration: Work closely with planning, IP, Optical, Engineering, and Operations to ensure seamless and timely execution of the product roadmap. Foster a collaborative environment that encourages effective communication and problem-solving.
- Ability to travel up to 20% of the time. Domestic and International travel is required.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8+ years of hands-on experience within the telecom industry.
- 5+ years of experience as a Product Manager or Systems Owner with a knowledge of telecom OSS/BSS tools.
- 3+ years of experience designing analytics products, solving problems using data and providing business insights.
- Track record of successfully managing complex tools/systems from conception to launch.
- Experience to translate technical concepts into clear, actionable product requirements.
- Proficiency in Agile methodologies and product management tools.
- Data-driven mindset with the experience to analyze metrics and make data-backed decisions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical Prowess: Background in computer science, engineering, network infrastructure technologies, along with a strong aptitude for knowledge of complex technical systems. Proficiency in telecom technologies, OSS/BSS tools and associated architectures.
- MBA or Advanced Degree: Possession of an MBA or Master's in a relevant field
- Customer-Centric Mindset: Proven experience to deeply understand customer needs and translate them into innovative and user-friendly product solutions. Always keeping our internal customers the #1 priority.
- Project Management through SDLC: Strong knowledge and experience following SDLC to ensure timely delivery of features. Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and proactively implement mitigation strategies.
- Experience within the telecom industry preferably with focus on wireline infrastructure
