RequirementsPosition Summary: Joining the WIN team as a Network Systems Technician is an integral role within the Network Management Department, and as such, all ideas, input and constructive recommendations will be highly valued. This position performs a highly diverse range of duties in a fast-paced technology driven environment. Network Systems Technicians will ensure the maximum possible service availability and optimize performance of networks, servers, data center and internet services. The position will be taking direction from Network Systems Shift Manager. Primary Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and administer enterprise grade routers/switches, SONET/DWDM/IP equipment and Linux/Windows servers
  • Use internal monitoring systems to diagnose and troubleshoot network and server problems. Manage and resolve support tickets
  • Provide prompt notification to customers on outages as well as troubleshooting, outage management, repair services and post outage reporting
  • Assist with tasks including: maintaining the standard operating procedures and technology installation such as securing cabinets, installing equipment and cabling devices together
  • Perform scheduled maintenance, upgrades and troubleshooting of enterprise quality networking equipment as well as relaying prompt notifications to customers regarding maintenance events.
  • Follow all documented processes and procedures
Provide support for email, DHCP, Authentication, DNS issues, turn-up and troubleshooting for new circuits. Ensure backups are setup and completed properly. Log all checks and troubleshooting activity and repair any issues found. Provide engineering and configuration services for core and customer equipment as well as security checks and updates to ensure the network and devices remain secure. Complete video channel turn-up, testing and repair. Complete standard operating procedures to ensure continuous and proper operation of routers, switches and other networking equipment. Provide prompt notifications to customers on maintenance events, as well as performing maintenance on the devices. Perform any additional job-related duties needed to help drive our vision, fulfill our mission, and provide our Members with industry leading customer service. Technical Skills: Provide superior customer service skills in a responsive and professional manner. Working knowledge of Windows Server, Linux Server and Virtualization Technologies. Ability to type 40 words per minute, diligence and attention to detail, excellent interpersonal communication skills and strong technical troubleshooting skills. Possess the ability to successfully manage multiple projects and priorities concurrently. Knowledge of WAN and LAN technologies. Provide superior customer service skills in a responsive and professional manner. Preferred Technical Skills: CompTIA A+/Network+/Linux+/Security+, Cisco CCNA certifications, MEF Certification are a plus. Linux, SMTP experience are a plus Qualifications: Possess, at minimum, an Associate's Degree or (3) years' related experience. Provide superior customer service skills in a responsive and professional manner. Willing to work 1st, 2nd or 3rd shift, rotational weekends and holidays that fall on scheduled shifts as well as the flexibility to work additional shifts to meet business demands.
