Job Description:
- Under the direct supervision of the New Century Fieldhouse Maintenance Specialist, helps with the maintenance and field preparation for the athletic fields and grounds at New Century Fieldhouse Sports Complex.
- Aids supervisor in leading, training, motivating, and supervising part-time staff to ensure all policies and procedures are followed and that a safe environment is provided to patrons.
- Fixes safety issues as they arise and are identified; communicates these issues and remediations to the New Century Fieldhouse Maintenance Specialist daily.
- Operates and maintains vehicles or powered equipment, including but not limited to mowers, tractors, golf carts, utility vehicles and similar, as well as string trimmers, drills, saws, snow removal equipment, and other hand tools as needed.
- Completes commercial mowing, field dragging and field painting and chalking; applies chemicals and spreads fertilizers, herbicides, and soil amendments; aerates grounds, maintains landscaping, and helps with irrigation repairs.
- Ensures all daily, weekly, monthly, and annual facility and equipment maintenance tasks are completed; these tasks could include light plumbing, electrical, painting, or any other needs that may arise.
- Works with vendors to ensure the completion of maintenance tasks.
- Ensures that the athletic fields at New Century Fieldhouse Sports Complex are clean, safe, maintained, and operated at a level of excellence.
- Monitors inclement weather to help determine facility playability, works on-call to maintain fields as needed.
- Completes paperwork, work orders, and equipment logs; follows purchasing card guidelines to ensure accuracy in the approval process.

Job Requirements:
- High School Diploma
- Two years of sports field or lawn care maintenance and/or facility maintenance
- Valid drivers license.
- Proven ability to successfully maintain and prepare outdoor facilities, ensuring excellent customer experience and patron safety.
- Proven ability to help lead staff to a high level of accountability and satisfaction.
- Motivated to achieve at a high level and a team player.
Preferred Job Requirements:
- Associate or bachelors degree in turf management or related field.
- One year of experience supervising staff.
