The New Patient Contact Specialist provides essential support and administrative services to the office, the doctors, and the patients in a fast-paced doctor's office. This person will be involved in a wide spectrum of tasks including patient customer service, scheduling, data entry, managing electronic health records, and patient education. Required Skills and Experience:
- 1 year previous customer service experience
- 1 year previous EMR experience preferred
- Bilingual (Spanish) candidates preferred
Essential Functions/Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):
- Answer inbound new patient phone calls for multiple offices within the northern region of US Foot and Ankle Specialist (USFAS)
- Schedule new patient appointments according to specific office schedule templates and provider needs
- Collect accurate, pertinent demographic and insurance information from new patients
- Verify insurance information at time of scheduling
- Activate patient portal at time of scheduling
- Communicate important office information to new patients, including portal instructions, office location, arrival information, etc.
- Collaborate with offices involved in the new patient contact center to verify accurate office information
- Transfer phone calls to corresponding offices regarding medical records, billing inquiries, or clinical questions
- Serve as a liaison between new patients and office staff/doctors
- Run reports to ensure accuracy in booking
- Provide excellent customer service to new patients with thorough and efficient interactions
