This role serves as a resource for gathering product knowledge and information for potential new products, new categories as well as adding items with unique attributes to our wide array of existing categories of products. This is an ideal position for someone with retail experience who has a personal passion for electronics and technology.It is Micro Centers core promise to take care of our associates and customers which has led to our success over the last 40+ years!MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:Perform all sourcing, item setup/lifecycle management, in-store item testing, in-store merchandising and other functions in New Product DevelopmentThe position requires the associate to interface well throughout all departments to support company initiativesManage new product requests through iSupport systemServes as catalyst for potential new products and categories, is used as a resource for product knowledge and availabilityResearch and develop tests for new and existing categoriesFollow new technology and evaluate specific categories to look for new opportunitiesManage the test process between stores and home officeWork with the buyers and the stores regarding test products and processesMaintain product inventory levels for the duration of tests and communicate resultsDaily retrieve product deliveries from mailroomMaintain the internal product categorization hierarchyOther test-related duties assigned by managementResearch on new consumer electronics, technology and computer products via various ecommerce websitesManage relationships and communication with domestic and overseas vendorsEDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:Bachelors degree in business or equivalent business-related experience preferably in merchandising, buying, or new product developmentStrong interest and ability in learning new technology trends in all categoriesBackground or experience in ecommerce platformsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAnalytical mindset with ability to see trends in dataHighly organized with focus on execution, problem solving, and improving salesStrong attention to detail in a fast paced, deadline driven environmentDemonstrated determination and ability to take ownership of challenging situationsExceptional time management skillsTeam player with an ability to work collaborativelyMicrosoft Software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Database related programs1+ years product development experience a plusMICRO CENTER OFFERS EXCEPTIONAL BENEFITS:Medical, Dental and Vision Benefits Coverage for Regular Full-Time AssociatesEmployee Discount that includes a Friends & Family Discount ProgramTuition Reimbursement & Education DiscountsPaid Time Off for Regular Associates401K Plan with Company MatchEsteemed Vendor & Company Job TrainingCareer Advancement OpportunitiesOUR GROWTH OPPORTUNITIES:At Micro Center, we empower our employees to set their sights high and blaze their own trails.
