New Shepard Deputy Cognizant Engineer (dCogE) – Mechanical/Structures/Actuated

This role is part of the New Shepard program. New Shepard is a reusable suborbital rocket system designed to take astronauts and research payloads past the Kármán line – the internationally recognized boundary of space. Through operational reusability, New Shepard supports our mission of lowering the cost of access to space.
As part of a hardworking team of passionate, diverse, and accomplished experts, you will lead a team of Launch Vehicle Engineers and Maintenance Engineers in the execution of Operations & Maintenance Engineering scope on the fielded New Shepard reusable launch vehicles. You will be accountable for sustaining engineering support across the Mechanical/Structures/Actuated subsystems, including launch day Engineering Back Room support, overseeing the disposition of nonconforming and upgrade work to the fielded vehicles, and decision authority for risks, waivers, and Engineering Change Requests during the vehicle refurbishment cycle.
You will work in close collaboration with the Cognizant Engineers (CogE) who own all aspects of the Mechanical, Structures and Actuated lifecycle at the New Shepard program level to identify and implement design and/or process changes to improve system reliability and reduce operational cost and vehicle/ground system turn time. You will report directly to the Director, New Shepard Operations & Maintenance Engineering.

Compensation Range for WA applicants: $136,620.00-$191,268.00
