An expired recommend will prevent consideration for hire.Required DocumentsA Cover Letter.Posting End DateMonday, November 4th.Job DescriptionThe New Student Orientation (NSO) Coordinator at BYU-Idaho is responsible for creating and implementing a welcoming onboarding experience for new students and their families. This role aids students in transitioning to university life and aligns with the institution's mission to cultivate disciples of Jesus Christ who are leaders in their homes, the Church, and their communities. The coordinator collaborates with various departments to design a comprehensive orientation program, oversees events, recruits and mentors student leaders, and integrates campus resources. Additionally, the coordinator serves as a key liaison for parents, ensuring they are informed and engaged in their students' experiences. Continuous improvement of the orientation process is also a focus, utilizing data analysis and feedback.Knowledge, Skills & ExperienceEducation:A bachelor's degree is required, preferably in education, student affairs, leadership, communications, or a related field. A master's degree in a related area is preferred.Experience:Five years of professional experience in student affairs, orientation programming, event planning, or a related field. Experience in hiring, mentoring, or leading student leaders is highly desired.Skills:- Strong organizational and project management skills with attention to detail.- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.- Ability to inspire and lead teams, particularly in a student leadership context.- Knowledge of student development theory and support for BYU-Idaho's mission.- Familiarity with data collection and program evaluation processes.- Ability to work collaboratively across departments and manage multiple priorities.- Commit to fostering a welcoming environment for new students and their families.- A professional demeanor with the ability to represent the university effectively.
