New Technology Specialist Database Admin IV NASA Glenn Research Center Cleveland, Ohio HX5 is an award-winning provider of engineering, research and development, and technical services to clients such as NASA and the Department of Defense. Founded in 2004, HX5 is a fast-growing veteran and woman-owned company with locations nationwide. HX5 is currently seeking a New Technology Specialist to join our team in Cleveland, Ohio in support of the GEARS contract at NASA Glenn Research Center. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: NASA's Glenn Research Center (GRC) Technology Transfer Office (TTO) is housed in the Office of Technology Integration and Partnerships (OTIP) which is also known as Code T. The TTO supports GRC's science and engineering staff in identifying, reporting, understanding, protecting, and celebrating new technology and technological advancements developed through their research. The selected candidate will be responsible for the following: NASA Technology Transfer System (NTTS) Serve as the Application Specialist for the NTTS at GRC, including conferring with others within NASA and across the Agency, evaluating requirements, discussing solutions, developing plans of approach, and ongoing maintenance and review of NTTS to identify problems and develop appropriate solutions. Serve as NTTS team lead by training staff at GRC on the use of NTTS. Coordinate NTTS issues with management and subject matter experts as necessary. Assist GRC users with access, training, and problems with NTTS. Design and deliver reports for metrics and other presentations on an ad hoc basis. GRC Data Management Coordinate and track new technology reports (NTRs) and new technology summary reports (NTSRs), from receipt by performing the following: Obtaining, entering and maintaining files of all GRC R&D award instruments/modification and supplement instruments. Uploading related documents as attachments in the NTTS and on NTR backup server (NTRs, Interim NTSRs, Reports, Basic/Modifications/Supplements, etc.). Communicate with Civil Servants and contractors, relative to their reporting of new technology based on policy, clauses and terms, and conditions. Processing disclosures of new technology, including obtaining documentation from civil servants, contractors, partners, interaction with points of contact for review and acceptance of pending e-NTRs to release to the processing queue, documenting in NTTS, acknowledgement of receipt, distribution, and coordination with legal regarding title/patents rights. Track contractor, grantee, or partners interim New Technology Summary Report. Ensure integrity of NTTS database information. Design and deliver reports for metrics and other presentations on an ad hoc basis. Participating in review of office/Agency procedures. Reporting/Other Maintain the integrity of Space Act Agreement records, including verification of required content, distribution, opening notification of impending expiration, closing, reporting (routine and ad hoc), and database entry. Provide reports to OTIP management and other Center management on a monthly or ad hoc basis (i.e., space act agreement metrics) as requested. Assists in Partnership Agreement Maker (PAM) Help Desk requests. Attend staff and other meetings per request. Travel as requested. Support TTO activities as needed. Support urgent time sensitive close-out requirements as needed. Provide training and mentoring to new employees as needed. Participating in review of office/Agency procedures. Required Skills: Demonstrated experience working in databases. Excellence in customer service. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Education/Experience: Master's or Bachelor's degree and 10 years of experience. Other Position Requirements: Proof of U.S. Citizen
