OverviewThe Newport Engineering Office (NEO) department is seeking engineers of all levels to be members of the Simulation/Stimulation (Sim/Stim) system design and development team in Middletown, RI. The Sim/Stim team applies diversified engineering skills to produce simulation and stimulation test products in support of the Command and Control System Module (CCSM) Off-Hull Assembly and Test Site (COATS) facilities for VIRGINIA and COLUMBIA classes of submarines. These Sim/Stim products are deployed at multiple contractor sites in support of tactical systems development and require lifecycle support, maintenance, and technical refresh. The engineers will also interface with customers and end users. Some travel is required for certain positions.This is an opportunity to work with a diverse group of engineers with a strong reputation for producing quality products that greatly support the US NAVY. NEO boasts lab space in addition to development assets that support Sim/Stim development and offers the opportunity to work on large technically challenging projects, but with the flexibility and personal feel of a small office environment. - Bachelor's of Science degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity or Networking degree
- Eligible for a Secret security clearance
Preferred:
- Knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems
- Working knowledge of JIRA, Git, or GitLab
- System adminsitration experience
- Networking experience
- Experience developing requirements specifications, test procedures, test reports and technical manuals
- Experience leading projects
- Ability to troubleshoot system and hardware problems
- Experience with debugging tools such as Wireshark
- Cybersecurity related certification, training, or experience
