SUMMARY : The hotel night auditor is responsible for reconciling and closing out daily hotel financial activities and transactions. The night auditor works to check and correct the hotels guest ledger registration, reservations and revenue collection of payments.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
+ Performs the functions of the front desk clerk including check-ins, check outs, reservations, answer telephone, provide wake-up calls and provide information concerning the hotels facilities, functions and location.
+ Familiar with the properties security and key control procedures as well as fire & emergency safety procedures.
+ Perform cash accounting, register cash and prepare cash for bank deposits after closing the days business.
+ Prepare and complete paperwork necessary for the front desk operation, review check-in/outs and ensuring payments.
+ Record the total daily amounts of credit card purchases and cash deposits. Verifies credit cards, direct billing and cash deposits are accurate and match final balances.
+ Posts all changes to guest accounts, complete all required reports noting discrepancies and out of balance accounts.
+ The night auditor acts as an internal auditor to ensure hotel staff correctly report revenue and financial transactions.
+ Work as a desk clerk during the night hours, checking in late guest arrival, assist the guest needs, responding to guest complaints and resolving any problems.
+ Coordinate cleaning room when guest check out with other service personnel.
+ Experience in data entry and dealing with the public is required.
+ Computer usage skill required proficiency in Microsoft Word, Office 97, Outlook, Excel, and hotel management software system knowledge.
+ Must be able to get along well with co-workers and work as a team.
+ Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays as necessary.
+ Superior customer service skills required.
+ Professional appearance and demeanor required.
+ Must be able to respond calmly and handle many customer demands in a fast paced environment.
+ Must have manual dexterity to be able to operate the following equipment; computer, telephone, copy machine, fax machine.
+ Prefer 1-2 years Hotel experience
+ Observes and adheres to Akwesasne Mohawk Casino safety policies and procedures
+ Perform other duties as assigned by Front Desk Manager/Director
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES : This job has no supervisory responsibility.
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactory. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
PREFERRED QUAILIFICATIONS: 1- 2 years previous hotel experience. Experience with Agilysys, the hotel property management system.
LANGUAGE SKILLS : Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other associates of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Must obtain and maintain a St. Regis Mohawk tribal gaming work permit which requires a criminal background check to be used solely for employment purposes. Successful candidates for employment must submit to and pass a drug test for illegal substance prior to employment being confirmed. In case of a positive result, the candidate is not eligible for employment with the Akwesasne Mohawk Casino Resort. Employment will not begin until process is complete.
