The research teams strive to make their work meaningful and actionable to the communities they work with, policymakers, and practitioners.Policy & Expert AssistanceThe Center provides hands-on, planning and implementation assistance to a wide range of jurisdictions in areas of reform such as problem-solving courts (e.g., community courts, treatment courts, domestic violence courts), tribal justice, reducing incarceration and the use of fines/fees and reducing crime and violence. Our current expert assistance takes many forms, including help with analyzing data, strategic planning and consultation, policy guidance, and hosting site visits to its operating programs in the New York City area. Center SupportA dedicated support team within the Center ensures the smooth functioning of operations across various domains, including finance, legal, technology, human resources, fundraising, real estate, and communications. Comprising 15% of the organization's staff, these teams provide essential infrastructure support and innovative solutions aligned with the Center's mission and values. THE OPPORTUNITYBJI seeks a Night Clinical Intake Coordinator for the borough's Supervised Release Program (SRP). Reporting to the SRP Clinical Director, the Night Clinical Intake Coordinator will oversee the development, implementation, and day-to-day operations of the Clinical Intake Department, composed of a team of clinicians responsible for providing program intake, comprehensive needs assessment and screenings, periodic emergency intervention, and case assignments for incoming program participants. The Clinical Intake Coordinator will ultimately work nights on weekdays and weekends (5pm-1am), but will initially primarily work weekdays (9 am-5 pm) to allow for onboarding and training and will transition to a night schedule as the Night Intake Team gets built out. The Night Clinical Intake Coordinator will leverage significant clinical, supervisory, and program management experience to support the Clinical Intake Specialists in the execution of their responsibilities. Specifically, the Night Clinical Intake Coordinator will provide clinical and task supervision for the Clinical Intake Specialists, oversee case assignments, mandatory programming assessment and recommendations, service to participants presenting with acute needs, and de-escalation in the courthouse. The Night Clinical Intake Coordinator will ensure effective cross-team communication and collaboration to prioritize comprehensive and aligned service delivery; proactively identify successes, challenges, and opportunities to strengthen programming; create opportunities for meaningful collaboration, and maximize the use of internal and external resources and expertise.The Center for Justice Innovation strongly encourage and seek applications from women, people of color, LGBTQIA community members, as well as individuals with lived experience with the legal system.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Lead planning and implementation of the SRP intake department in collaboration with site leadership and the SRP Court Reform team;Support policy and protocol implementation in collaboration with site leadership and the SRP Court Reform team;Maintain effective collaboration with direct practice leadership to ensure comprehensive and aligned service delivery to participants;Provide weekly clinical and task supervision to a team of night shift Clinical Intake Specialists;Provide bi-monthly clinical group supervision to a team of night shift Clinical Intake Specialists;Provide dotted line supervision to the Night Senior Resource Coordinator and Night Resource Coordinators, who facilitate the program referral process for Supervised Release programming and provide written and verbal updates to the court including defense attorneys, assistant district attorneys, and judges on a regular basis.Responsible for quality assurance, monitoring team's compliance with program requirements and court reporting obligations;Oversee routine and accurate documentation to ensure best practices and court reporting obligations are consistently practiced;Responsible for addressing staff deviations from the program model or other unfilled responsibilities;Responsible for consistent and effective cross-team communication and collaboration to proactively identify successes, challenges, and opportunities to strengthen programming, create opportunities for meaningful collaboration, and maximize internal and external resources and expertise;Facilitation of bi-weekly meetings across all direct practice teamDevelop and maintain effective communication and collaboration with all other Coordinators and the Compliance team to align direct practice with fidelity to the program model;Responsible for reviewing case assignments to determine appropriateness;Responsible for building and maintaining knowledge of individual case manager's unique skill sets, strengths, and challenges across approximately 80 case management positions;Responsible for maintaining knowledge of individual Case Manager's case loads;Responsible for maintaining knowledge of individual Case Manager's training achievements and needs;Responsible for reviewing Clinical Intake Specialists mandatory programming recommendations to determine appropriateness, prior to submission to the court;Provide Clinical Intake Specialists with case consultation for service referrals;Oversee and coordinate de-escalation efforts in response to incidents occurring in courthouse and intake;Advise use of Intake Needs Screener, as necessary;Co-facilitate and participate in required de-escalation and crisis intervention training;Provide coverage for Clinical Intake Specialists (including conducting assessments) as needed;Intervene as needs present in the court house requiring supervisory support, including but not limited to speaking on the record in court, de-escalating participants, and coordinating emergency services;Maintain professional and positive relationships with court staff, judges, and attorneys;Ensure Clinical Intake team is completing daily data entry as required;Support the recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and training for new clinical intake team members;Ensure regular and equitable access to program-related external professional development and training opportunities for all staff;Participate in regular staff trainings to develop program expertise and related skill sets, including required refresher and management trainings; andAdditional relevant tasks, as necessary.Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:LCSW required;5 years direct practice experience (i.e., therapeutic or case management) required;Minimum 2 years supervisory experience required;Ability to work nights and weekends required; Experience in court-based direct practice strongly preferred;Experience working in pretrial services strongly preferred; andBilingual (English-Spanish) strongly preferred.Position Type: Full-time in-person work required; standard work week consists of the weekend and 3 weekdays from 5:00pm-1:00am.Position Location: Brooklyn, NY.Compensation: The compensation range for this position is $74,200 - $95,500 and is commensurate with experience.
