This position is designated as Essential Personnel , which requires that employees report to their job site during emergency situations, such as snow, inclement weather, or other emergency situations, unless otherwise indicated by the Director of Operations.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/TYPICAL TASKS:The minimum performance expectations include, but are not limited to, the following functions/tasks:
- Arranges furnishings and equipment for the purposes of providing adequate preparations for meetings, classroom activities and special events.
- Cleans assigned school facilities (i.e. classrooms, offices, restrooms, multipurpose rooms, grounds, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining a sanitary, safe and attractive environment.
- Inspects school facilities for the purpose of ensuring that the site is suitable for safe operations, maintained in an attractive and clean condition, and/or identifying necessary repairs due to vandalism, equipment breakage, weather conditions, etc.
- Maintains supplies and equipment (i.e. cleaning solutions, paper products, mops, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring the availability of items required to properly maintain facilities.
- Responds to immediate safety and/or operational concerns (i.e. facility damage, injured and/or ill students/employees, alarms, etc.) for the purpose of taking appropriate action to resolve immediate safety issues and maintaining a functioning educational environment.
- Secures facilities and grounds for the purpose of minimizing property damage, equipment loss and potential liability to organization.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Operations and/or Principal.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Candidate must be able to follow oral and written directions and have the ability to get along well with others.QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Any combination of education and experience equivalent to completion of high school preferred;
- Ability to read basic operating instructions and;
- Has some custodial cleaning experience or the ability to be trained in these areas.
