EMPLOYEE QUALIFICATIONS:Must have required knowledge of current standard housekeeping procedures and materials.Must be physically able to fully perform all custodial and required maintenance duties on aregular basis, and to assist in school building snow and ice removal.Must be able to read, write, and verbalize work-related directions and instructions withsufficient skill to perform effectively.Must possess and maintain a current New Jersey Black Seal boiler operator's license, asneeded.Must be able to capably operate all housekeeping machines and equipment.Must understand and be able to use basic hand and power tools.Must be willing and able to respond to school emergencies.TASK RESPONSIBILITIES AND PROCEDURES:Perform all cleaning functions associated with assigned areas in the manner prescribed.Sanitize specific areas as assigned utilizing prescribed germicides.Be responsible for security of assigned cleaning area.Perform minor repairs as assigned.Perform emergency and special duties as assigned by building Principal, Facilities Manager, or Administrator. Custodial personnel are not to be used for personal tasks or errands, which results in unproductive time and excessive costs.Tasks or other periods when classes are not in session custodians shall perform tasks assigned by the building Principal, Facilities Manager, or Administrator that are necessary to prepare the school building.These tasks shall include:Assistance in univent cleaning.Floor scrubbing, waxing, sanding, or refinishing.Repairs to equipment.Cleaning and relamping of lighting fixtures.Shampoo rugs, as necessary.Replace/ dispose burned out light bulb fixtures around District premises or facility.Perform any task assigned by the Facilities Manager/ Administration.DELSEA HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT IS AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER.
