St. Vincent de Paul is looking for someone to fill the position of Night Custodian. The Night Custodian is responsible for the cleaning and maintenance of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic School and any other areas assigned by the Campus Facilities Manager. The Night Custodian is expected to be professional, courteous, and helpful. The selected candidate must demonstrate a commitment to safety, cleanliness, and order for the campus. The Night Custodian is expected to work Monday-Friday from 3-11PM.Qualifications and RequirementsProven experience as custodian, janitor, or similar roleKnowledge of use and maintenance of industrial cleaning equipment and appliancesKnowledge of safe disposal of chemical liquids and other hazardous componentsFamiliarity with basic landscaping and handyman practicesAbility to diagnose and solve mechanical issuesAttention to detail and conscientiousnessGood physical condition and strength; able to carry heavy objects up to 40 lbs and ascend stairsHigh school diploma is preferred but not requiredSpeaks Spanish and English (Spanish preferred but not required)Respectful of and flexible working around various groups that use the school in the eveningReportingThe Night Custodian reports directly to the Campus Facilities Manager. He/she will also occasionally interact with the pastor, business manager, and school principal.Responsibilities and DutiesCustodialEnsuring the school is well maintainedResponsible for removal of all trashMopping, dusting, sweeping, and cleaning of all roomsOutdoor cleaningincluding but not limited to: shoveling snow from the sidewalk, lifting heavy items, moving chairsCleans other areas as assigned by Campus Facilities ManagerGeneral MaintenanceMaintain and monitor campus HVAC systemsIdentify and report necessary repairs to the Campus Facilities ManagerPerform maintenance and minor repairs at the school as needed by the Campus Facilities Manager including but not limited to:broken switches, changing light bulbs, fixing door handles, minor leaks, furniture repairReport major damages to the Campus Facilities ManagerSafety and SecuritySecure facilities after operating hours by locking doors, closing windows, and setting the alarmPeriodically inspect campus facilities and equipment to prevent possible injuries to visitors or damage to propertySecure school buildings to ensure proper building securityVerify that emergency equipment is maintained and repaired as neededOtherPerform other duties as assignedThis is a full-time position.#J-18808-Ljbffr
