We are currently recruiting a Night Porter to join our team here at Killaloe Hotel and Spa. Killaloe is a picturesque tourist town in Co. Clare, well-known for its fishing and boating activities. The hotel overlooks the Kincora Marina, providing direct boating access to Lough Derg / The River Shannon.The property comprises a modern hotel with 35 en suite bedrooms, lounge, function room, kitchen, bar, reception, and ancillary areas. It has been refurbished throughout and is finished to a very high standard.Job Description:As a Night Porter, you will be responsible for the smooth running of the night-time operations of the hotel, primarily focusing on the security of the hotel building and its guests. This part-time position requires working alone during the night.Key Duties and Responsibilities Include: Completing security procedures and maintaining responsibility for the security of the hotel building and its guests.Being fully aware of, and acting in accordance with, all fire, health and safety, hygiene, and emergency procedures.Check in of late arrivals and check out of early departures in accordance with front office policies and procedures.Completion of night audit duties, conducting regular security checks and night walks.Distributing an efficient handover to the early reception team detailing any issues that need to be followed up on.Regular cleaning duties of public areas and meeting rooms, ensuring high standards of maintenance and cleanliness.Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of hotel operations, products, and hotel layout.Reporting all issues that occur and remaining vigilant at all times.Answering the phone and taking reservations as required.Serving drinks as required.Remaining customer service focused with a friendly, courteous, and professional manner.Remaining flexible and assisting other departments as required. The Candidate: Previous experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry is preferred but not essential.Must be available to work between the hours of 23:00 and 07:30 on weekdays and weekends, including public holidays.Competent level of IT skills required.Flexibility to work in various tasks/departments.Ability to work alone or as part of a team.Excellent customer service skills required.Positive and friendly attitude essential.Very good level of written and spoken English is essential for this role.
