The Facilities Maintenance Manager is part of the ASA team and is responsible for ensuring all Auxiliary Services Association facilities are safe, secure, customer-focused, and efficient operations. The Facilities Maintenance Manager is responsible for various technical support services for campus activities, including the security of facilities, maintenance, custodial matters, coordinating room setups, and staging. Support of emergency procedures and fire and safety evacuation during hours of operation are also managed by this position. The position conducts thorough inspections of ASA facilities, produces summary reports for senior ASA and contractor management, and maintains appropriate files of supporting paperwork. The position may be asked to monitor and conduct audit reports on the operations themselves.Due to warranting circumstances, occasional weekends and holidays work may be necessary.POSITION DETAILS:FLSA Status: ExemptSalary: $62,400.00Schedule: Night ShiftRequired Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of five (5) years experience performing renovations/repairs and general maintenance duties.
  • Ability to perform minor electrical and plumbing repairs.
  • Highly motivated/self-starter
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, heavy workload environment.
  • Good communications skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Possess NYS driver's license
  • Good customer service skills (attitude and responsiveness).
  • Ability to lift 50 #'s
  • Skilled in the use of hand and power tools used in the trades.
  • Knowledge of building codes and safety regulations
  • Ability to complete projects unsupervised
  • Able to follow oral and written directions accurately and promptly without constant supervision.
  • Ability to meet travel requirements associated with this position.
  • Ability to meet acceptable background check standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with working in a university environment.
  • Experience with machine operations
  • Manage relations with internal management, staff, and external parties, including campus personnel and departments.
  • Basic computer skills.
Responsibilities/Essential Functions: Program/Department Responsibilities:Program Delivery
  • Responsible for routine maintenance and minor repairs as needed within ASA Facilities (e.g., doors, windows, equipment, furnishings, and physical plant to include painting, spackling, wall/ceiling repair, fastening/hanging shelves, repair, loading dock gates, light bulb replacement, fixture repair).
  • Respond to, diagnose, and repair calls for plumbing issues within dining locations.
  • Install and repair valves and fittings.
  • Light construction and carpentry
  • Responsible for bulb replacement.
  • Setup and breakdown of various ASA events.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Administrative Responsibilities:Coordination/Operation
  • Submit requests for orders of parts and supplies needed for repair and maintenance projects.
  • Ensure contract compliance by providers in areas of food service and cleaning services.
  • Perform regular inspections of all facilities to ensure compliance and efficacy in executing cleaning and maintenance responsibilities.
  • Responsible for care and security of equipment when not in use, delivery of equipment to ASA and CDS locations when needed, and assuring that equipment is returned in working order.
  • Assist other members of the facilities team when needed.
Essential Requirements:
  • Must be able to give and receive verbal communications and read written communications continuously.
  • Able to compose written communication occasionally.
  • Must carry objects weighing 20-50 pounds or less as needed.
  • Able to concentrate continuously with little interruption.
  • Able to concentrate on moderate detail with some interruptions frequently.
