Job Description:Job Description for Facilities Night Shift SupervisorJOB SUMMARYThe Facilities Night Shift Supervisor will provide additional oversight and guidance in the execution of work by the night shift HVAC, Electrical, Ultra-Pure Water/Wastewater (UPW/WWT), Bulk Gas and Emergency Response Team (ERT) crews and manage the efficient operation of facility systems to support the mission and goals of NY CREATES and the site. Primary supervision will be by the appropriate day shift supervisor.Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Work with day shift Supervisors to manage night shift staff activities in an effective and efficient manner. Monitor maintenance, repair and related work activitiesWork with day shift Supervisors to develop and document process improvement measures regarding means, methods, equipment performance and quality of work. Assist in training employees in new methods or procedures; provide technical assistance to staff and inspect work in process to insure completion within allotted time limits and acceptable quality standards.Ensure night shift staff members are trained in CMMS (computerized maintenance management system) and are properly utilizing the system to capture equipment, maintenance, inventory and other relevant informationProvide leadership, oversight and direction to assigned facilities night shift employees to assure goals, programs, activities, and personnel practices are consistent with and contribute to the Institution's goals and strategiesCoordinate with suppliers, contractors, engineers, in-house staff and others concerning equipment maintenance and operations activitiesEnsure work activities adhere to safety regulations, policies and procedures. Promote EHS training requirements for assigned personnelProvide input for hiring, promotions, disciplinary action and motivation of employees. Provide input to Supervisors on employee evaluations and performance plans as necessaryHelp oversee and assist with the training of technicians within the FOG departmentProvide detailed communication on a daily basis to the UPW/WWT and HVAC supervisors regarding insight into how the night shift went, what work was completed and what concerns there may be, going into the day shift.Be present and have face-to-face conversations with the UPW/WWT and HVAC Supervisors regarding the operations of the night shift just workedSafety talks with technicians as to what tasks that are working on and what safety related topics can be discussed to help ensure all hazards are mitigatedWhen accidents or injuries occur while onsite, this position is responsible to complete and turn in the employee report for incident and injury documents to the supervisor of the reporting employee, EHS and HR.Continuous communication between FOG work groups with the knowledge of what is taking place onsite and the ability to promptly escalate any issues that will impact tools to communicate with the FAB operations team when neededManage all workspace cleanliness in all facility related work areasContinue to learn and understand the UPW/WWT and HVAC processes and rounds to be able to step in and help when needed or to cover staffing shortages/issues if neededOther reasonable duties as assigned.Requirements:Minimum Requirements for Facilities Night Shift SupervisorA technical trade degree from college or University accredited by the US Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization with a minimum of 5 years of related supervision of facility operations environment OR a minimum of 10 years of work experience and 5 years' supervisory experience a facility operations environment.Must possess good interpersonal and communications skills, the ability to write clearly and concisely, and proficient use of Microsoft Office, computer maintenance management programs, and other applicable computer programs.Required to wear cleanroom protective equipment and various personal protective equipment (PPE) related to work activities.Must be able to carry and respond to cell phone/emails outside of regularly scheduled work hours.This position is contingent on the satisfactory completion of a background check; this position may require annual background checks.PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS5+ years' experience in facilities management or with highly technical facilities (cleanrooms, semiconductor industry, medical facilities, data centers, etc.) with knowledge and understanding of related disciplines such as HVAC, mechanical, process, electrical and control systemsDon't meet every requirement?
