Job Purpose:
Ensures the safety and security of youth during sleeping and morning hours by supporting the program treatment and intervention philosophy by providing leadership and instruction for all night unit staff, thereby assisting in the creation of program policies and assuring implementation and practice; teaching and guiding staff with on-going supervision; effectively assisting night staff teams to create and sustain a therapeutic culture; making scheduled rounds to all homes and responding to all the needs of the youth and direct care staff throughout the night and morning hours; providing supervision, support, crisis intervention, and behavior management.
Essential Job Functions:
* Responsible for the overall safety and security of all youth and direct care staff within the homes.
* Communicate any observed issues or problems to morning staff
* Remain awake and alert during shift
* Be able to provide nightly rounds to all homes throughout night
* Provides care and therapeutic treatment of Rawhide youth within the residential programs
* Assists with day-to-day residential operations and processes including medication administration
* Completes accurate documentation to remain in compliance with licensing requirements
* Provides crisis support to the living unit as needed
Qualifications
Job Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree required. In a social or behavioral science field (Criminal Justice degree included for Group Home level care)
* Along with 1 to 2 years field work/employment working with the type of resident population served
* Completion of Rawhide's supervised traineeship program
* Supervisory experience preferred
* Valid driver's license with insurable driving record
* Exercises critical thinking, judgment and discernment
* Ability to identify and respond to crisis situations
* Ability to lift 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time
* Physically able to meet the demands of the position, including providing therapeutic physical restraints
* Sound decision making skills
