Position Title: Shipping Associate Full Time Exempt Status: Non Exempt Accountable To: Shipping Supervisor Job Summary: A shipping associate is responsible for the safe, timely, and accurate fulfillment of orders for food service and retail customers. Shipping associates physically select inventory from pick bins, building pallets of products for numerous customers, load outbound trailers, and replenish pick bins throughout the shift. This process involves a voice picking system and RF Replenishment system. The voice picking system directs the associates to locations in the DC where they will scan the UPC, label, and place the cases on their pallets. Pallets are to be built in stop order for easier delivery by our transportation drivers. The RF replenishment system is utilized to replenish primary pick bin locations. Individuals in these roles need to be extremely detail oriented and possess basic math skills. As an associate in these positions, you need to have strong communication and organizational skills. You must be able to use computer software and be able to meet the physical requirements of the job such as bending, lifting heavy objects, and operating powered industrial trucks. Shipping associates will be working in dry, cooler, and freezer environments. Duties/Responsibilities:
- Picks items from DC pick bins based on quantity requested and stacks them on pallets
- Selects oldest product in the bin first by following FIFO (first in first out)
- Ensures that orders are accurate by going to the correct bin location and scanning the product UPC
- Responsible for palletizing product by stop order while ensuring product integrity and stability of pallet
- Labels all cases properly throughout picking process
- Stages items correctly on the dock
- Creates load maps and loads trailer in stop order sequence
- Verifies product integrity, wraps pallets to ensure all contents are secure for transit
- Follows all food safety and defense procedures including placing product in proper storage location
- Replenishes pick bins by following FIFO rotation of product
- Operates power equipment and ensures safety regulations are followed
- Follows all safety policies and procedures to ensure the safety of themselves and their coworkers
- Ensure all warehouse sanitation standards are met
- Ensures warehouse goals are met
- Maintains a high level of health and safety standards
- Performs other general warehouse duties as needed

Machines, Tools & Equipment: Pallet jacks, forklifts, reach trucks, power equipment, voice trained headset Education & Experience:
- Previous experience working in a distribution center preferred
- Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required
- Experience working with an RF Scanner/Voice Picking System preferred
- Previous experience operating power equipment preferred
