AMC has provided extended weekday emergency hours and 24-hour weekend care for over 22 years! With a team of 11 veterinarians, Animal Medical Center has the staff and facilities to provide everything from routine exams to intricate surgeries. Our center has capabilities such as ultrasound, CT, digital radiographs, surgical laser, oxygen cages, ventilators, a full diagnostic laboratory, and more. Excellent training and continuing education opportunities About You:Veterinary Technicians play an integral part with patient care in our hospital whether they are treating hospital patients, taking care of clients, assisting the veterinarian with patient orders, and providing quality nursing care to hospitalized patients. Duties for veterinary technician include:
- Nursing care and monitoring of patients (placing IV catheters, administering medications, etc.)
- Advanced veterinary technical skills (experience with chest tubes, feeding tubes, etc.)
- Skilled in imaging (radiographs, ultrasound)
- Cleaning and stocking of hospital
- Assisting veterinarian with emergencies
- Answer after hour phone calls
- Provide great customer service for our clients
- Experience in emergency veterinary medicine preferable
Applicants should be able to:
- Work night shift with the hours of 8:00 p.m. - 8:00 a.m. Full-time position (every other weekend is a 3 day weekend)
- Work holidays
- Wants a long-term career, not just a job
- Understand that this position is not a 9:00 a.m. -5:00 p.m. job. Pets do not just get sick and have emergencies between 9-5
- Upon being hired, team member must pass background check and drug test
- Veterinary technician in experience with emergencies is preferred
