The City of Fayetteville is currently recruiting for Non-CDL Transit Operators to provide responsible skilled duties in the transport of the general public; to perform preventative maintenance and minor repair to assigned vehicles; and to provide staff support to the Transit Department. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Drive and maintain a transit route and schedule; transport passengers along route or to scheduled appointments; assist passengers in loading and unloading as needed; operate specialized loading and unloading equipment to assist wheelchair passengers in a safe and timely manner. Tactfully greet passengers; answer questions and provide information to the general public regarding transit schedules, rules, regulations, routes and other information; refer sensitive inquiries and complaints to appropriate staff.
