Title: Non CDL Emergency WorkersState Role Title: Transportation Operator IHiring Range: $17.70 - $47.18Pay Band: 1Agency: VA Dept of TransportationLocation: Culpeper District ComplexAgency Website: Type: General Public - GJob DutiesVDOT's Culpeper District is seeking non-CDL operators to be on-call during inclement weather within Culpeper, Orange, Louisa, Fluvanna, Albemarle, Greene, Madison, Fauquier and Rappahannock counties.Incumbents will operate equipment such as front-end loader, backhoe, tractor, and motor grader, to clear snow and ice. Perform manual labor as needed.This position will also be on-call for other types of weather emergencies. Performance of these duties will require work outside of normal business hours including nights, weekends, and holidays. VDOT will determine when essential positions are required to report.Positions are seasonal/temporary with no state benefits.Minimum Qualifications* Valid Driver's license.* Experience performing physically demanding manual labor.* Experience operating equipment.* Ability to work 12-hour shifts, day or night.Additional Considerations* Experience performing snow removal with equipment.* Advanced level experience operating equipment such as front-end loader, backhoe, tractor, motor grader, skid steer loader, etc.Special InstructionsYou will be provided a confirmation of receipt when your application and/or résumé is submitted successfully.
