Valid Texas Drivers License. Knowledge of traffic laws of the State of Texas. CPR/First Aid Certification required.Ability to read, write and speak clearly in the English language, think coherently under stress, and able to hear the normal level voice in conversation.Position Standards:
- Transport patients safely and timely to and from appointments, and load and unload both patients and belongings, as needed.
- Follow schedule and report regularly to dispatch.
- Maintain vehicle interior and exterior.
- Complete all required documents and maintenance records clearly and accurately.
- Participate in training and educational opportunities.
- Demonstrate the knowledge of preventative maintenance on non-emergency vehicles.
Departmental or Unit Specific:
- Must be able to operate the hydraulic wheelchair lift to safely load/unload patients.
- Possess the ability to physically step up and down, bend, stoop, and safely secure clients for transport, lift up to 70 lbs., and transport wheelchair clients on paved and unpaved surfaces.
- Have no more than two (2) moving violations, and no more than one (1) at fault accident within the past five (5) years.
- Possess the ability to understand and operate smart mobile technology, GPS applications, 2-way radios, and cell phones for communication purposes.
