This position is designed to support one of our sports medicine physicians and will require travel to our offices in Willow Grove and Doylestown, PA. Schedule: Monday through Friday 8 AM to 4:30 PMJob Summary:The Non-Surgical Clinical Assistant provides assistance to the Physician and Physician's Assistant with daily administrative and clinical duties.
- Greets patients in the waiting room and escorts them to the exam room. Directs patient to surgery scheduling and/or front desk for checkout.
- Maintains order, cleanliness, and inventory in the exam room, and prepares exam room for patients to enter.
- Cleans and autoclaves instruments.
- Provides and scans proper paperwork to the chart for Physician's review.
- Records vitals as per Physician's request.
- Prepares injections for the Physician.
- Pulls up x-rays, MRI's, CT's, and various studies pertaining to the patient's exam.
- Assists patient with clothing when necessary.
- Disposes of bio hazardous waste and sharps according to OSHA regulation, and replaces sharps containers when existing containers are full.
- Answers telephones in patient areas and provides voicemail coverage for Physician.
- Requests reports for various facilities for Physicians.
- Empties and restocks laundry.
- Scans appointment tracking to identify when patients are ready to be seen by the Physician and directs Physician in patient appointment order.
- Reviews Physician schedules for chart preparation including ensuring operative reports, dictations, and studies are present in the chart.
- Completes pre-certifications for MRI's and other Physician orders as necessary.
- Send Visco Injection authorization request to supplement pre-certification representative
- Scans information into patient record (including all Physician orders, prescriptions, etc. on the date of service).
- Covers other areas in the office when not assigned to a Physician.
- Attends required meetings and participates on committees as requested.
- Exemplifies the desired culture and philosophies of the organization.
Qualifications:
- Required High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Current Medical Assistant, LPN, ATC or EMT and CPR certifications/licensures, knowledge of medical office procedures, and medical terminology.
- Computer skills including MS office. Preferred one year of experience in medical office experience
