Job Description:

The George L. Argyros College of Business and Economics at Chapman University invites applications for a non-tenure track, Instructor or Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor of Management Science beginning August 1, 2025. The successful candidate will play a critical role in the Master of Business Analytics (MSBA) program that will launch in Fall 2025, delivering high-quality instruction and contributing to the program's ongoing development. We seek an exceptional educator with a strong academic foundation and significant industry experience in statistics, analytics, and AI to prepare our students for careers in these rapidly evolving fields.

Responsibilities

· Teach eight undergraduate and/or graduate courses (24 credits total) annually (August - May), focusing on topics such as business analytics, artificial intelligence, statistical modeling, machine learning methods, and data visualization.

· Plan, develop, and deliver high-quality and industry-relevant courses that incorporate real-world applications of machine learning and advanced analytics.

· Utilize programming languages such as Python and R, along with their relevant libraries, to develop and deliver course content.

· Actively contribute as an integral member of the Argyros College faculty by engaging in department and university service as expected of a non-tenure track faculty member.

· Offer regular office hours to provide students with opportunities for one-on-one consultations, academic advising, and clarification of course materials.

· Participate in advising students, helping them select appropriate courses and develop academic plans.

· Contribute to the overall mission of the institution by attending program meetings and supporting campus-wide initiatives and events.

· Serve on academic committees or task forces within the institution, contributing to discussions and decisions related to academic policies, curriculum development, and other relevant matters.

Qualifications

· Expertise in economics, information systems, artificial intelligence, or other data science-related fields.

· A Master's degree (Ph.D. preferred) in Business Analytics, Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, or a closely related field.

· Proficiency in relevant tools and technologies, such as Python, R, SQL, and machine learning platforms, with a strong understanding of their libraries for data management, visualization, and machine learning (e.g., pandas, scikit-learn, matplotlib/ggplot/plotly/seaborn, statsmodels, pytorch).

· Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and their applications in analytics.

· An outstanding record of professional achievement is required.

· A proven record of teaching excellence, particularly at the graduate level.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Industry experience in AI, business analytics, data science, or related fields.

· Experience developing and implementing AI solutions in real-world business contexts.

· Knowledge of emerging trends in large language models and their practical applications in various industries.

· Experience in curriculum design and program development.
