Job Description:
Our client is looking for passionate and compassionate individuals to join their team as SSVF Navigators, dedicated to helping all members of the homeless community, including Veterans and their families. This role is crucial in connecting individuals to the Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) program and various community resources.Position Summary: The SSVF Navigator will be the first point of contact for individuals experiencing homelessness or at imminent risk of becoming homeless. They will assess eligibility for support services and provide necessary referrals. This position involves managing a caseload of 20-30 clients at a time, allowing for meaningful one-on-one interactions as they guide individuals through the qualification process.Key Responsibilities:
  • Build rapport with individuals and families experiencing homelessness and assess their eligibility for various programs.
  • Generate referrals to the SSVF program and other community resources.
  • Coordinate emergency services for clients who are literally homeless.
  • Assist clients in obtaining necessary documentation and provide transportation as needed.
  • Ensure all eligible clients are assigned a case manager within 3 business days.
  • Maintain accurate records in the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) and other databases.
  • Work a flexible schedule to meet client needs and support agency goals.
Position Requirements:
  • Experience in social services, non-profit work, or related fields preferred.
  • Associate's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Must pass a Level II background check and a federal-level drug screen.
  • Clean 3-year driving history and a valid driver's license with a registered vehicle.
  • Insurance for the vehicle must be obtained within 90 days of onboarding.
