A Regional IT Technician may be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:The successful applicant will be involved in all facets of the Informational Technology for the North East Division.(S)he will need to be a self-starter and able to work without direct supervision.The successful applicant will need to be able to work well with others and coordinate activities with other departments and locations within the company.The duties for this job include, but not limited to:
- Assisting in network administration tasks.
- Diagnose and repair minor problems with computer and peripheral equipment, network, and phone systems.
- Set up user workstations in accordance with company policies.
- Assist in end user training with software and applications used in various departments.
- Assist in DSD handheld support with route supervisors.
- Install new infrastructure hardware/systems in coordination with other departments and corporate guidance.
- Provides feedback to product and software development staff when modifications could improve user-friendliness of the programs, applications, and processes for which training is provided.
- Assess IT systems such as: databases, hardware, server, active directory, printer server on a regular basis to ensure it continues to meet necessary demands.
- Answers, evaluates, and prioritizes incoming telephone, voice mail, e-mail, and in-person requests for assistance from users experiencing problems with hardware, software, networking, and other computer related technologies.
- Interviews user to collect information about problem and leads user through diagnostic procedure to determine the source of the error.
- Communicates with software and hardware vendors to request service regarding defective products.
- Participates in corporate helpdesk procedures on hours and a rotating on call schedule.
- Remains current on advances in technology.
- Travels to assigned locations for project work or issues and may be requested on larger projects as the company requires.
The following qualifications are required:
- 1-5 years of experience in IT field;
- Active Directory and database management knowledge;
- Strong analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills; and,
- Good communication ability, both written and verbal.
The following qualifications are preferred, but not required:
- Degree in computer science or related field.
- Network administration experience.
- MDM Experience.
(S)he will be required to sit and stand for long periods of time. (S)he will be required to stoop, bend, and reach above the head and below the knees to file and retrieve data. Monday- Friday 40+ hours a week.
