Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Step Down Job Specialty: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Nights Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, every other weekend required Guaranteed Hours: Not specified Experience: 2 years of relevant experience License: Registered Nurse License Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Must-Have: - Willingness to float to different healthcare facilities and units within the scope of practice - Telemetry Interpretation - IV Insertion skills Job Description: - Provide nursing care in a 48-bed Progressive Care Unit with a nurse-patient ratio of 5:1 - Collaborate with ancillary staff - Float to areas such as telemetry, medical-surgical, and holding patients on a weekly basis - Manage a variety of diagnoses and procedures, including chest pain, atrial fibrillation, cardiac drips, catheterization procedures, TURPs/CBI, chest tubes, abdominal surgeries, respiratory cases, COVID-19, and withdrawal - Administer vasoactive drips, including Cardizem and nitroglycerin - Utilize EPIC for charting
