Posterity Group, LLC is seeking a Physician Assistant (C) Nurse Practitioner (APRN) to be The Medical Officer of the Day (MOD) for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and the St. Cloud VA Health Care System. VA HOURS OF OPERATION/SCHEDULING: From 4:00p.m. - 8:00a.m., Monday through Friday, including Federal Holidays (24 hours), 24-hour or 48-hour weekend coverage, and any other mutually agreed upon hours. This could include day shifts on holidays, day or evening shifts on weekends, plus up to five (5) hours weekly beyond normal tour of duty for approved activity (i.e. trainings, patient care activities and administrative duties). Be available to be scheduled as required by the facility Chief of Staff or designee. The St. Cloud VA Health Care System operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year including Federal Holidays. ROLE and RESPONSIBILITES: Providing MOD services including, but not limited to: Inpatient care for all bedded programs; domiciliary, nursing home care units, inpatient psychiatry, and mental health residential program Outpatient services in a clinic setting or Urgent Care. Perform Admission H&P Examinations. Evaluation and basic care to all Nursing Home, Acute Psychiatry, Residential patients. Evaluation and basic medical care to UC patients when requested as time permits. Answer non-emergent calls and pages within 20 minutes, by exception of complaint. Respond to code blues within 5 minutes per policy and tracked by the Code Blue Committee. Stabilize and treat active illness and facilitate hospital admission when necessary. Maintain follow-up after admission and will continue to follow-up through the end of the tour. Adhere to external regulatory guidelines and requirements. Accept appropriate stable transfers to the facility. Notify management of significant events which includes deaths on VA property due to homicide, suicides, or accidents; significant injuries; significant clinical outcomes or emergency/disaster situation affecting a cohort of Veterans (e.g. disease outbreak, displacement of residents); curtailment of clinical services; and sexual assaults. Make evening rounds on all inpatient units as necessary. Visit patients needing attention, rendering such treatment as indicated, and ordering special nursing or attendant's services as the patient's condition requires. Provide outpatient and urgent care within their scope of practice. Admit patients to either observation status or regular admission. Enter all orders into CPRS, with accompanying documentation. Write discharge orders. Obtaining and documenting informed consent as necessary. Respond to all fires and incidents involving beneficiary and/or employee and complete the appropriate forms. Perform C&P Examinations. Implement palliative and end of life care, engage in goals of care conversations (GOCC) and complete Life Sustaining Treatment (LST) Progress Note and Orders, including DNAR. Manage emergency situations. Transfer patients to other medical facilities. Function as the Personnel Health Provider. Provide medical emergency treatment for employees, volunteers and visitors as necessary. Grant authorized absences to patients. Basic life support in accordance with the current CPR standards. Treatment of acute allergic reactions. Treatment of traumatic injuries. shall follow all established medication policies and procedures. No sample medications shall be provided to patients. Provide discharge education and follow up instructions that are coordinated with the next care setting for all Hospital. Notification of test results for patients receiving care in accordance with VHA Directive 1088, Communicating Test Results to Providers and Patients. Complete the appropriate QM/PI documentation pertaining to all procedures, complications and outcome of examinations. Document care given and select appropriate Evaluation and Management (E&M) procedure codes in CPRS as required by the VAMC Chief of Service, Chief of Staff, or designee. Documentation must be sufficient to support both the E&M and procedure codes. Documentation and coding functions must be completed by the end of each patient care encounter. Refer all patient/customer service issues to the Chief of Staff, or designee. Use documentation methods outlined by SCVAHCS hospitals and policies. This includes utilization of the VA computerized medical record system for progress notes, medication orders, and physician orders. Compensations: Salary $129,701 - $153,976 annually $1,500 annually for CEUs Up to $8,880 annually for healthcare compensations. Could be cash in Lieu of. 3 weeks Paid Time Off (PTO) 11 paid Federal Holidays annually. Healthcare, vision, dental 401k Requirements Qualifications: Have a current license to practice medicine in any State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia) when services are performed onsite on VA property. All licenses held by the personnel working on this contract shall be full and unrestricted licenses. License cannot have been ever restricted, suspended, revoked, voluntarily revoked, voluntarily surrendered pending action or denied upon application will not be considered for the purposes of this contract. Nationally certified in one of the following specialties: Family or Primary Care. Physician Assistant (PA-C) and Nurse Practitioner (APRN) employee contractors shall maintain National Certification. The provider will be Basic Life Support (BLS) certified prior to arrival to the worksite. National Provider Identifier (NPI) Provide copy of current DEA certificate.
