Job Description:Utilizes advanced health assessment, knowledge, and decision making skills, works independently and in collaboration with physicians and other health care professionals. Provides health care to individuals and families, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention. They may care for patients ranging in age from newborn to elderly as noted in age-related category and area of expertise.

DEPARTMENT OVERVIEWThe Emergency Department team at Essentia Health St. Mary's Detroit Lakes is comprised of 5 physicians, 2 Physician Assistants and 3 Nurse Practitioners. This engaged and inspired team collaborates to ensure the highest level of care. The team works to achieve health and vitality in our communities by caring for patients in the Emergency Department setting and creating an environment to exceed the expectations of our patients and families. NP: Master's degree in nursing
