Job Description:
Trelleborgis seeking anNPD Technical Estimator to join the team. Utilizing knowledge of polymer processing (e.g. injection molding, extrusion, etc.) and related processes, the Technical Estimator will identify the activities required to fulfill both customer and internal requirements for releasing new products and prepare cost estimates accordingly. Education and ExperienceRequired:
  • Bachelor's Degree or 10 years equivalent experience
  • 3 years minimum experience working in a polymer processing or manufacturing environment in a technical role
Desired:
  • 5 years minimum experience working in a polymer processing or medical manufacturing environment in a technical role or performing the essential job functions listed above
  • Post-secondary education, apprenticeship, or certificate training in polymer related or accounting discipline
Job Responsiblities:
  • Responsible for completion of new product development quotes presented via Sales RFQ's
  • Responsible for completion of quotes related to existing business, as assigned
  • Responsible for ensuring voice of customer inputs are obtained so that quote outputs reflect customer needs
  • Drives collaboration with internal and external subject matter experts as needed to ensure quote strategies meet the manufacturing sites capabilities and customer cost targets
  • Responsible for identifying exceptions or capable alternatives to customer specifications and subsequent follow-up with Sales Engineer/Customer to ensure acknowledgement of exceptions
  • Work with internal supply chain resources identifying capable outside vendors to support raw material and service needs
  • Participate in contract review to ensure voice of the customer and quote strategy is clearly passed on to technical team
  • Create, track, and report critical department KPI's
  • Initiate, lead, and participate in continuous improvement activities as needed to support critical KPI goals
Competencies
  • Undertanding of basic manufacturing costs
  • Understanding of rubber, silicone, or plastic molding processes
  • Understanding of injection mold tooling design concepts
  • Familiarity with secondary operation, assembly, and medical device packaging techniques
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and specifications
  • Ability to read and interpret 3D CAD modeling
  • Familiarity with ISO13485 and QMS standards
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing concepts and problem solving techniques
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language
  • Ability to communicate clearly by conveying and receiving ideas, information and direction effectively
  • Ability to challenge oneself to consistently meet all goals and deadlines
  • Willingness to strive for excellence by producing work that is free of errors and mistakes
