Overview Job Posting: Nuclear Quality Control Instructor Number of positions: 1 Shift: 1st Job Description: This position reports to the Supervisor of Nuclear Trade Training and will be responsible for the administration and delivery of the Nuclear Quality Control Inspection training program. They will be required to follow approved lesson plans, perform examinations / evaluations of student performance and report on their performance. Other duties include the development of training packages, participation in training exercises, and conducting jobsite training validations. Applicant will be expected to:
- Assist Quality Control Management in establishing curriculum, managing course training materials, class room and practical training, and oversight of performance for inspectors in the piping and mechanical, electrical, and structural fields
- Develop curriculum from technical requirements, conduct and evaluate training and verify inspector competencies
- Observe work activities to validate alignment of work performance and training curriculum.
- Ensures learning delivery is in accordance with company procedures and approved curriculum.
- Willing to work all shifts to support inspector training needs at the Groton Shipyard and Quonset Point Facility.
- Utilize existing Active Learning Centers (ALCs) to facilitate learning and assist with the development of new ALCs and mock-ups as needed.
Communicate with Quality Control Inspection, engineering, and audit and assessment on a regular basis.
Responsibilities Skills:
- Competent in MS Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Must have good verbal and written communication skills and be able to work with personnel from a variety of backgrounds and base knowledge levels.
- Data analysis and technical writing to generate reports and assessments.
Qualifications Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 2 years experience in one or more of the following inspection methods: System Cleanliness Inspections, Pipe/Mechanical Inspections, or Electrical Inspections.
Preferred:
- Bachelors Degree in Workforce Education and Development; Nuclear Engineering Technologies; Navy Master Training Specialist (MTS) or Journeyman Instructor Training (JIT); or closely related field preferred.
- Experience in instructing naval nuclear propulsion material to adult learners.
- Experience with the Cornerstone Learning Management System.
