Performs a full range of nuclear medicine diagnostic and therapeutic imaging procedures to provide optimum information for the diagnosis and/or treatment of patients.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE: For West Virginia, Ohio, and Maryland locations:1. Current Nuclear Medicine license through the West Virginia Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Technology Board, or applicable state licensure where services will be performed.2. Must be registered by the ARRT or NMTCB as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist.3. Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire.For Pennsylvania locations: 1. Must be registered by the ARRT or NMTCB as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist.2. Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire.CORE JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The statements described here are intended to describe the general nature of work being performed by people assigned to this position. Attends and participates in departmental meetings and activities to support progress improvement and team building.2. Participates in planning and implementing change, maintaining and improving high quality, cost effective department operations.3. Performs a full range of nuclear medicine diagnostic imaging and/or treatment procedures to provide optimum information for the diagnosis and ultimate treatment of patients.4. Plans and performs imaging procedures to produce medical images for the diagnosis or treatment of patients meeting the quality standards of the department as identified through professional literature and department protocol, policy and procedure.5. Minimizes radiation exposure to patients and staff in accordance with Radiation Safety Department policy, procedure and guidelines as well as State, Federal, The Joint Commission and other applicable regulatory bodies.6. Reports equipment failures immediately upon identification using identified communication mechanism to ensure the performance of radiology services.7. Assesses patients' needs related to comfort, hygiene and range of motion and provides support accordingly.8. Performs as a clinical and/or didactic instructor meeting the quality standards of the radiology education program(s) as identified through professional literature, department and radiology education program(s) protocol, policy and procedure.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
