If so, you might be a great fit for a role at UPMC! \n UPMC's Monroeville Imaging Center is currently hiring a casual Nuclear Medicine Technologist to work a daylight shift - Monday thru Friday.\n Selected candidates will be placed in the appropriate job title/salary grade based on education and experience.\n Apply today and find out where your career can take you!\n Purpose:Performs imaging procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. Competently performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes.Responsibilities:\n\nDemonstrates a strong ability to interact with both patients and co-workers, while displaying a high level of caring, listening, dignity and respect. Able to work as team member within the department and all other departments to expedite patient care efficiently.\nDemonstrates the ability to communicate instructions to patients in a clear and concise manner and explain procedures to help allay the patient's fears and solicit their cooperation.\nEnsures all exams within his/her area of responsibility are properly coded and tracked through RIS system, all exams are properly networked to ISITE for archiving and interpretation, and all charges are adequately entered for the exams performed.\nMaintains appropriate records of the receipt, use and disposal of radiopharmaceuticals.\nIdentifies all patients properly by using two patient identifiers and utilizes universal protocol when performing procedures. Reviews patient history and assesses physician orders, applying specific departmental protocols for optimal results in the acquisition of data. Documents patient history in electronic record as required.\nCalculates, measures and records patient dose according to departmental policy and Radiation Safety Guidelines.\nCompetently performs nuclear medicine exam at a high level of proficiency producing technically optimal results.\nPerforms all quality control checks on imaging and non-imaging equipment to ensure proper performance and functioning.\n\nGraduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology Program or candidate meets NMTCB alternate eligibility criteria.\nPET experience preferred\n\n Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:\n\nARRT(N) or CNMT registry or registry eligible - must obtain registry within 12 months of hire\nBasic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)\nAct 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal\nAct 33 with renewal\nAct 34 with renewal\nAct 73 FBI Clearance with renewal\n\n UPMC is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veteran
