Ops Instructor: Compensation of $113K, Certification Bonus of $15K, Training Milestone Bonus of $6500, individual annual incentive bonus (target 10% of salary)Sr. Ops Instructor: Compensation of $140K+, Certification Bonus of $15-20K, Training Milestone Bonus of $6500, individual annual incentive bonus (target 15% of salary),Comprehensive benefits package, 401K with company match, stock purchase program, vacation/holidays/sick time. Start dates available as soon as January, and as late as mid-April 2025. Training lasts 9-12 months, after which you will obtain your RO (reactor operator) of SRO (senior reactor operator) license and Operations Instructor Certification. Once that has been achieved, you will be responsible for teaching ILT (initial license operator training), NLO (non-licensed operator), and requal classes.
Requirements for Ops Instructor:
- Associates degree in science/engineering or education/training
- 4+ years related commercial nuclear industry experience/ technical background
OR
- 6+ years of related commercial nuclear industry experience/technical background
Requirements for Sr. Ops Instructor
- Previous or current senior reactor operator license
OR
- Previous Reactor Operator (RO) WITH 4+ years of related industry experience (must achieve SRO certification within 18 months)
OR
- A Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) Certification WITH 4+ years of related industry experience AND 6 months of proven teaching in Licensed Operator Requal Training (LORT) or Initial License Trainee (ILT)
Responsibilities:
- Drives station and personnel performance improvement through the use of training. Coordinates, and conducts performance-based operations RO/NLO training programs as required.
- Assures the training programs are maintained current and incorporate information gained from INPO Significant Operating Experience Reports and NERs, NRC Circulars, Bulletins, and Information Notices, plant design change and backfit information, plant procedure changes and revisions, new regulations, and training effectiveness reports.
- Prepares trainee examination and conducts trainee evaluations for classroom, laboratory, OJT, and simulator environments.
- Conducts counseling sessions for trainees, evaluates the results, and recommends/develops individualized training programs.
- Supports station and fleet in the areas of business initiatives, project management, refuel outage support, EP duties, and special projects.
- Participates in NRC, INPO and management audits, and prepares responses to audit findings.
