The Purpose
The Adjunct Instructor is employed to teach one or more courses which may vary in length of time, and to perform duties as assigned by supervisor and defined by the course outline.

* Teach courses as assigned, advise students concerning course requirements, maintain course records, and assist with course scheduling.
* May assist in training and updating other faculty.
* May assist in updating, maintaining, and distributing course outlines and materials for assigned courses.
* May assist in coordinating clinical sites and course offerings as required for assigned curriculum.
* May assist in reviewing textbooks and software.
* All employees are responsible to ensure compliance and confidentiality with all policies and procedures of the College, NC Community College System, and applicable State and Federal regulations.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
* Maintain the technical competencies necessary to the job function. Education
AAS in a related field required,
Preferred: Bachelor's Degree or higher in a related field.
Experience
Minimum of two years experience as an RN. All applicants must provide verifiable and relevant professional experience in a work-place setting or demonstrated instructional/teaching environment.
Additional Qualifications
Registered Nurse, currently registered in North Carolina with an unencumbered license. Completed a course in teaching adults (or) experience teaching adults (or) has supervised nurse aides.
Skills and the Know-How
Must maintain credentials necessary for assigned program area. Possess strong personal and professional integrity, effective verbal and written communication skills, and a commitment to safety. Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite or similar products, database systems, College email and website, and other computer applications associated with the position.
Physical Demands
The ability to perform all duties associated with the position including, but not limited to lifting, prolonged standing, sitting, bending, stooping, and operating or performing work with associated tools and machines.
